As we settle into a routine in our new location, one of the things we are most excited about is welcoming teams back to Haiti. Short-term trips have been central to our ministry since the beginning, and it has been a consistent blessing to connect the church in the US with the church in Haiti in this way. Moving to the central plateau has brought some transitions for our ministry, one of which is learning how to navigate life in a new area while also looking to develop ministry in a second region—Onaville. While Onaville has been our home for decades, the social and political situation in Haiti has changed how things run in the region, and we need to reestablish what ministry will look like within such a dramatically different context. In the midst of political turmoil and social unrest, God continues to provide for His people in Haiti. The Lord recently allowed us to acquire a second ministry compound in a safer area of the country, which enabled us to move Pastor Poyis and our children out of gang-ruled Onaville. God truly answers prayer.
