2025 World Day of Social Justice

Haiti is a nation in crisis. Gang rule has created widespread injustice that consistently affects the weakest and most vulnerable members of society—the poor, women, and children. Haiti has faced political instability, natural disasters, and socioeconomic challenges that have contributed to ongoing violence, exploitation, and neglect. Lack of access to education and healthcare, along with sexual violence and human trafficking are challenges that many face on a daily basis. As Christians, we have an opportunity to come before the Lord in prayer, seeking God’s intervention for the sake of the gospel. As part of the global church, we also have [...]

Ministry Expansion, Part 2

As we set down roots in a new area, we are conscious that community is at the heart of Haitian society. Effective ministry always means knowing and caring about those around us, and that is even more apparent in an agrarian culture. In this video interview, Greg Barshaw shares some of the ways we go about getting to know and understand the needs of a community, while also highlighting some of the unique ministry opportunities we have in our second compound’s regional context. To learn more about building hope with Connect 2 Ministries, visit Projects. [...]

Ministry Expansion, Part 1

In the midst of political turmoil and social unrest, God continues to provide for His people in Haiti. The Lord recently allowed us to acquire a second ministry compound in a safer area of the country, which enabled us to move Pastor Poyis and our children out of gang-ruled Onaville. God truly answers prayer. In this video interview, we asked Greg Barshaw to talk about his first visit to the new property and to share some of what is in store as we expand our ministry in the months to come. To learn more about [...]

Unexpected Ministry Opportunities

Over the past few years, the church in Haiti has faced heavy challenges. Gangs have repeatedly targeted pastors for kidnappings, creating an indirect form of persecution for Christian congregations as a whole. Today, we asked our founder, Greg Barshaw, to share what this political instability has meant for the church in Haiti and talk about the new ministry opportunities we’ve encountered as a result. To learn more about building hope with Connect 2 Ministries, visit Projects.

We’ve talked before about our first five years in Haiti, but today, we asked our founder, Greg Barshaw, to share about what the Lord has done in Connect 2 Ministries from its beginning till now. Missions Beyond Haiti: Africa

Regardless of where we find ourselves ministering in the world, there are a couple of principles that stay the same. We’ve talked about this in detail in our Four Pillars of Ministry post, giving a list of priorities that keep our ministry in Haiti on track. These goals revolve around enabling the church to meet needs in local communities so that in the process, we can be about Jesus. We’ve seen this focus bear fruit in many places around the globe, in a variety of cultures and social contexts. Greg has shared in the past about a conversation he [...]

Missions Beyond Haiti

Short-term missions trips can be life changing. The first time you go and experience ministry in a different culture, you learn and grow in ways you might not have expected. But the influence of going on a missions trip extends far beyond a single experience. When we venture into different cultures—whether it’s a rural village in Africa, an urban center in Asia, or even our local communities in the US—we encounter a broader understanding of what it truly means to make disciples of Jesus. While Haiti is our mission field at C2M, the scope of missions work around the world [...]
