Four Pillars of Ministry: Church-Centric

At Connect 2 Ministries, we’ve developed four core pillars that create a framework for everything we do in ministry. The goal of this series is to highlight each pillar by explaining what it means, why it matters, and how it makes a difference in our ministry. Church-Centric God designed the church to be an extension of Himself in the world, and we represent Christ because of our unity with Him. By working through local churches, whether in the US or in Haiti, we affirm God’s plan for Christian ministry to happen in the context of community. We believe that the [...]

Four Pillars of Ministry: Biblically Focused

At Connect 2 Ministries, we’ve developed four core pillars that create a framework for everything we do in ministry. The goal of this series is to highlight each pillar by explaining what it means, why it matters, and how it makes a difference in our ministry. Biblically Focused The Bible is our source. We have no wisdom, peace, or hope without it, so all of our ministry necessarily flows from a foundation on God’s Word. At Connect 2 Ministries, everything we do begins and ends with the Word of God. Our first pillar of ministry—biblically focused—is not just a principle. [...]

2025 World Day Against Child Labor

June 12 is World Day Against Child Labor, and every year, this day gives us reason to seek the Lord in prayer while thanking Him for the work He has already done in Haiti. Dozens of children rescued from slavery now call our C2M family home, living in an environment where they are loved, educated, and given a hope-filled future. All of this is from the Lord. To mark this World Day Against Child Labor, we want to invite you to check out our founder Greg Barshaw’s book, Go, Engage, Invest: Touching Lives with the Hope of Christ. [...]

Missions Beyond Haiti: South America

Whatever cultural or missions context you find yourself in, some things remain consistent. One of these things is the role of the church in reaching out to the lost rather than passively hoping they’ll come to us. Differences in culture are real, but they affect methodology, not foundational principles—the how, not the what, of biblical ministry. Ministry in Western Europe, for example, is less needs-based and more crisis-based than ministry in a third-world region. Wealthy cultures stand less affected by poverty, disease, and other issues that characterize life in developing countries, and that determines what ministry opportunities will look like. [...]

Pray with Us, Part 3

Incorporating prayer into our daily lives is essential for nurturing our relationships with God and cultivating our own spiritual growth. The Lord delights to encourage, strengthen, and transform us through relationship with Him, and prayer is one of the means He uses to work that grace in our lives. Here are some thoughts from Greg Barshaw on practical ways to make prayer a daily practice in our lives. 1. Set a Regular Time. Establish a specific time each day dedicated to prayer. Whether it’s in the morning, during lunch, or before bed, consistency helps form a habit. Use this time [...]

Pray with Us, Part 2

Prayer is more than a formula or prescription—it is rooted in relationship and may look different at different times and in different seasons. Yet there are a few constants in our ongoing prayer requests, and those requests reflect our constant need of the Lord. Here are a few examples. 1. Leadership. One of the key areas where we ask for prayer is for our leadership team. We pray for wisdom, discernment, and strength in navigating challenges and making decisions. We ask God for clarity, strength, and peace. 2. Outreach Efforts. Our ministry seeks to reach individuals and communities with the [...]

Pray with Us, Part 1

We’ve seen God work powerfully in our ministry over the years, and one of the ways this has been most obvious is through answered prayer. Bringing requests before the Lord is our privilege as His children, and He delights to hear us when we come to Him. Whether praying individually or collectively, God’s plan has always been for His church to carry out kingdom work in the context of relationship with Him. Here are some reasons why. 1. Spiritual Foundation. Ministering to others starts with a strong foundation in relationship with God, and prayer lays the groundwork. When we pray, [...]

God’s Church Is the Answer

The most important part of any project is the end result, and our goal is simple—to see lives changed for the gospel. In this season, that means an increased need for resources, both personal and tangible. Watch this video interview, as Greg Barshaw shares more about how you can support this ministry. Opportunities to GO

As we settle into a routine in our new location, one of the things we are most excited about is welcoming teams back to Haiti. Short-term trips have been central to our ministry since the beginning, and it has been a consistent blessing to connect the church in the US with the church in Haiti in this way. In this video interview, Greg Barshaw talks about what these trips will look like over the coming months. To learn more about building hope with Connect 2 Ministries, visit Projects.

Continuing Our Onaville Legacy

Moving to the central plateau has brought some transitions for our ministry, one of which is learning how to navigate life in a new area while also looking to develop ministry in a second region—Onaville. While Onaville has been our home for decades, the social and political situation in Haiti has changed how things run in the region, and we need to reestablish what ministry will look like within such a dramatically different context. Watch this video interview as Greg Barshaw shares his heart for our Onaville campus. To learn more about building hope with [...]
