This year’s Walk for Restavèks was something special—more than a fundraiser, it was a living expression of Connect 2 Ministries’ mission to unite the church in the US with the church in Haiti. For the first time, participants joined both in person and virtually, walking side by side across the country to pray for and support the children of Haiti. As much as we talk about the restavek crisis in Haiti, the reality is that many still have no idea what “restavek” even means. Our goal for tomorrow’s Walk is to shine light into the darkness—to raise awareness about an issue close to our hearts and speak up for children who cannot speak for themselves. Every year, Connect 2 Ministries sets aside a day to pray, advocate, and raise awareness for restavek children in Haiti. This November, we’re inviting everyone—whether you’re in southern California or far away—to join us in solidarity.
