At Connect 2 Ministries, we celebrate stories of churches stepping up to make a tangible difference in the lives of children in need. We had an opportunity to give thanks for one such example this month, as one of our US church partners recently sponsored a Christmas donation program for the church in Haiti.

Grace Missionary Church of Milford, Nebraska, organized a special drive to support our children as they settle into their new home. Their AWANA program took the lead in this effort. On December 3, the church hosted a packing event where sixty-eight kids joined in filling Christmas shoeboxes with gifts, school supplies, hygiene items, and toys. These boxes are more than just presents—they carry the message of God’s love to children in need.

The Christmas Shoebox Project raised over $2,500 in funds, enabling the church to send boxes for all our rescued restavek children in Haiti while providing extras for community outreach. Pastor Poyis and our kids will distribute these extra shoeboxes to other children in their local community, bringing joy and hope to children who deeply need the love of Christ.

This initiative reflects the heart of Connect 2 Ministries: connecting US churches with partners in the developing world to advance the gospel, strengthen communities, and demonstrate Christ’s love. What began as a simple packing event becomes a beautiful expression of generosity in light of God’s mission call to His Church.

We are grateful for the passion of Grace Missionary Church and the sixty-eight young people who took part in making it all happen. Their generosity speaks to the impact of local ministry, and we are excited to see such a clear example of God at work through the faithfulness of His people.
