Connect 2 Ministries invites you to join us for a day of prayer on July 28, as we come before the Lord to seek His guidance and wisdom for our ministry in Haiti. Sign up for email updates here.

As Christians, we believe prayer is powerful. In a world filled with noise, isolation, and injustice, prayer anchors us in the truth of who God is and how He works. Seeking the Lord in prayer is an opportunity to participate in what God is already doing—and Scripture reminds us of this in multiple ways.

1. Prayer Gives Us Access to God’s Presence—Through Jesus, we can approach God boldly.

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need..” — Hebrews 4:16

2. Prayer Aligns Us with God’s Will—Prayer is more than asking for what we want; it’s about discerning what God wants.

“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” — Matthew 6:10

3. Prayer Has the Power to Heal and Restore—God delights to work through the requests of His people.

“The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” — James 5:16b

4. Prayer Guards Our Peace—Circumstances may not change immediately, but God promises that prayer will change us.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:6–7

5. Prayer Is Part of God’s Rescue Plan—And God listens.

“Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” — Jeremiah 29:12–13

Prayer is how God invites us into His presence, aligns our hearts with His will, and works His power through His people. Our desire is to be people who pray—for ourselves, for others, and for the work God is doing through His church.
