“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law[b] of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.” —Psalm 1:1–3
Pastor Louis Jean Lenes
Pastor Louis Jean Lenes grew up in a Christian home, and he was blessed to have his parents as strong spiritual role models. Their testimony of faith encouraged him in his own Christian walk, and modeled the value and rewards of following Christ and trusting Him for salvation.
As a young man, Pastor Lenes wanted to be a doctor, but over time, God called him specifically to pastoral ministry. He knew the Lord was calling him and he went to Bible school to help prepare him for full-time shepherding. Pastor Lenes pastors a church about twenty minutes from the compound, and he truly has a heart for his people.
The church is located between two cities, and there are many members of the surrounding community who practice vodou. Please pray that this church would be a light, especially in the midst of a dark culture, and pray that their neighbors would be open to hearing the gospel. Please also pray for endurance for a family in the church who lives far away, and walks more than an hour to make it to church each Sunday.
As you pray for this ministry, please keep Pastor Lenes, his wife, Germaine Desir, and their four-year-old daughter in your prayers.
