Over the last few years, we have seen Haiti’s infrastructure in crisis (read more here and here). Governmental instability and social unrest have affected every area of life, and access to food is one of the most critical. We’ve thought long and hard about how to address this issue, and we’ve found both a solution and an opportunity.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re raising funds to cover our people’s in-country nutritional costs as well as the food shipments we send from the US. Over the past year, we have had to adapt to uncertainty regarding food sourcing, and we anticipate needing to do the same in 2025. The monthly cost to feed 140 people (including both children and staff) is $15,000, making your gift incredibly impactful. By donating a suggested amount of $25, you can provide a week’s worth of meals for one child, and, as a token of appreciation, receive a free copy of our founder Greg Barshaw’s new book, Go, Engage, Invest: Touching Lives with the Hope of Christ.

Resources in Haiti are scarce, and that means groceries can be difficult to obtain. Shipping ready-to-eat food like RUTF and MANA packs is a vital stop-gap when Poyis and our children are unable to buy food in-country, especially in light of Haiti’s ongoing malnutrition crisis. Providing means for both routes of food sourcing is our goal.

For all these reasons, your donation can make a powerful difference. This Christmas season, we have a special opportunity to give to those in need. From now until December 25, we’re raising money to support the nutritional needs of our people in Haiti. While the country continues in a state of crisis, what people need most is hope.
