Pastor Testimony—Frandy Poyis

“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” —Philippians 4:13 Pastor Frandy Poyis Pastor Frandy Poyis was born in Haiti to a family who practiced Catholicism and Voodoo. He lost his father when he was very young but gave his life to his Heavenly Father when he was twelve years old. While in school, Poyis worked as dean at Delmas Christian School and also used his gifts of shepherding and teaching at the church. [...]

His Mercy Reigns

On one of our trips to Haiti, we spent a long day out and about before arriving back at the compound around 6:00 p.m. It was cloudy and threatening to rain, but the temperature felt nice. We knew the kids would love an evening outside, so Poyis brought the children out to the front of the Regency Home (the “soccer” area) and told them to run around and play. He brought out a few bikes and let some of the older ones ride them around the field. This was a special treat for them, and I [...]

Pastor Testimony—Elberis Joseph

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” —Romans 8:31 Pastor Elberis Joseph Pastor Elberis Joseph was a young man when God took hold of His life. He had been living for himself previously, but from the moment he was saved, he had a powerful desire to serve the Lord and honor Him with his life. He began attending a church near where he lived, and continued faithfully in ministry there for many years. He served as a Sunday school teacher before deciding to leave [...]

2022 Shine a Light on Slavery Day

February 25 marks a global movement to Shine a Light on Slavery. People are still bought, sold, and traded in many parts of the world—often closer to home than we might think—and governments and leaders condone injustice rather than standing to protect the innocent. But even in the darkest of situations, as believers, we know there is hope. Watch this video for an encouraging look at how the light of the gospel has transformed the life of Lovinsky, one of the children from our Regency Home. “It’s amazing to know that God [...]

Pastor Testimony—Louissiant Delice

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” —John 3:16 Pastor Louissiant Delice Pastor Louissiant Delice was raised in a Christian home, and he has been thankful for the legacy of a believing family his whole life. His parents taught him to love the Word of God, and from a young age, he has desired to serve God first above everything else. Pastor Testimony—Marc Jean Louis Maitre

“I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.” —1 Corinthians 1:10 Pastor Marc Jean Louis Maitre Pastor Marc Jean Louis Maitre was raised in a Catholic family. Until recently, Catholicism didn’t permit people to read Scripture for themselves—so the family went to church regularly, but they didn’t have a Bible. In 1991, Pastor Louis Maitre’s family moved from Port-au-Prince to the countryside, because it [...]

Excited to Serve

Excited to Serve We talk often about how our kids are growing, but something you might not know is how excited they are to serve others. Recently the flooring in the Children’s Home storage room was redone, so Poyis took an opportunity to involve the kids while putting supplies back after the renovation. These supplies had all been used for previous VBSs—paper, glue, scissors, pencils, and other school supplies—and in the course of putting these things away, Poyis asked a group of the older students what they should do with the extras they were discovering. Their [...]

Pastor Testimony—Louis Jean Lenes

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law[b] of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.” —Psalm 1:1–3 Pastor Louis Jean Lenes Pastor Louis Jean Lenes grew up in a Christian home, and he was [...]

Rescued & Loved

Rescued & Loved On a sunny morning in Haiti, we arrived at the Children’s Home ready for a day working with the kids. As I made my way to the office, I passed classrooms filled with kids. Resources have been limited due to the coronavirus, but Pastor Poyis had improvised and brought in a couple of adult teachers to facilitate classes as usual. A few of the older children were also helping out by teaching the younger ones. I was amazed to see how well-behaved the children were, despite their classes looking a little [...]
