The local church is God’s primary means for reaching a world in need. As believers obey the gospel call to go and make disciples, they reach out with the love of Christ to the lost, the broken, and the hurting around them. Spiritual compassion is at the forefront, but compassion for temporal suffering is a strong component as well. That reality is the basis for our outreach efforts around food instability in Haiti.

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) provides specialized meal-replacement resources called MannaPacks—a form of Mother Administered Nutritive Aid. Each MannaPack is designed to deliver the precise nutrition a growing child needs, and these resources are shelf-stable, easy to prepare, and affordable to distribute at scale. FMSC packs these meals at volunteer-driven production facilities across the US, sending them to partner organizations in the world’s most food-insecure regions. Haiti is one of those places.

Countless Haitian children suffer from acute malnutrition, and a consistent meal can mean the difference between a child developing normally and facing lifelong cognitive and physical challenges. Over the years, we have had the opportunity to provide thousands of meals to families in some of Haiti’s most underserved communities as an extension of our local church ministry.

One of our central goals is to connect the church in the US with the church in Haiti. Much of the time, we do this by building long-term, relational partnerships with organizations that share our theology of compassionate ministry. Rather than handing off resources anonymously into communities, we work through trusted Haitian church leaders who understand their neighbors’ needs better than an outside organization ever could. Our collaboration with nutritional rehabilitation organizations operates the same way. Meals are distributed through local church congregations—the church becomes the point of care, and in doing so, it embodies the whole gospel: showing the love of Christ in both word and deed.

The impact of RUTFs and MannaPacks goes beyond nutrition. When a church feeds children, it earns trust. That trust opens doors for community engagement and discipleship that would be harder to open otherwise. This is what Connect 2 Ministries exists to do: resource the local church to meet the needs of the whole person. We are grateful for every ministry partner that makes that vision a reality.
