Incorporating prayer into our daily lives is essential for nurturing our relationships with God and cultivating our own spiritual growth. The Lord delights to encourage, strengthen, and transform us through relationship with Him, and prayer is one of the means He uses to work that grace in our lives. Here are some thoughts from Greg Barshaw on practical ways to make prayer a daily practice in our lives.

1. Set a Regular Time. Establish a specific time each day dedicated to prayer. Whether it’s in the morning, during lunch, or before bed, consistency helps form a habit. Use this time to pray specifically for Connect 2 Ministries and its various ministry efforts.

2. Create a Prayer Journal. A prayer journal is an excellent tool for tracking your prayer requests and seeing God’s answers. Document your prayers for the ministry, and reflect on how God is moving. This practice can deepen your faith and provide encouragement during both difficult and joyful times.

3. Join a Prayer Group. Consider joining or forming a prayer group focused on praying for God’s work around the globe. Meeting regularly with others not only fosters community but also amplifies the power of collective prayer. It creates accountability and allows for shared encouragement.

4. Use Scripture as a Guide. Incorporate Scripture into your prayer life. Use verses that help you reflect on God’s character in relation to specific prayer requests. Speak in prayer the truth you know from His Word. This approach helps ground your prayers in God’s Word and aligns your heart with His promises.

5. Set Reminders. In our busy lives, it’s easy to forget to pray. Set reminders on your phone or use sticky notes around your home to prompt you to pray regularly. This simple act can help keep your commitment front and center.

6. Pray with Intention. As you pray, focus on specific needs. Use our monthly prayer points as a guide, or ask the Lord to strengthen, guide, and equip us according to His character. Pray with faith, believing that God truly hears and answers prayer.

7. Speak Thankfully. Incorporate thanksgiving into your prayer life. Regularly thank God for His blessings and for the work being done through Connect 2 Ministries. God loves a thankful heart, and He designs to grow and bless His people through gratitude.

8. Make It Personal. Share your heart with God, and seek Him in your struggles, joys, and uncertainties. This refocuses us on Christ, who is the anchor for our thoughts in whatever season we find ourselves.
