Helicopter flying over Haiti mountainous range

Over the last year, we’ve seen God move in powerful ways. He’s moved minds and hearts to provide for and protect our people, and He’s brought us safely through two physical moves as well—leading us to the new ministry property our kids call home.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re raising funds to equip our new property to become a trade school. Animal husbandry, welding, carpentry, and sewing are a few of the skills that set young adults up for success in Haitian society, and we want to do everything we can to prepare our kids well for the next stage of life. As the training center develops, we envision some of our older students taking on direct responsibility both in the classroom and in business management behind the scenes.

Here are some of the things we need to make it happen.

Creole Bible Gifts

Read about the gift of a Creole Bible on our blog.

  • Audio Bible ($65)—Audio available in three common languages: English (OT & NT), French (OT), Creole (NT). One proclaimer audio device can be heard by about 100 people at once while in use.
  • Creole Bible ($35)—Print Bible in Haitian Creole.

Income Generating Gifts

Read about animal husbandry on our blog.

  • Chicken ($15)—One chicken provides a sustainable source of fresh eggs, meeting needs related to widespread protein deficiency.
  • Chicken Coop ($5k)—With a chicken coop, our children gain the opportunity not only to care for individual chickens, but to scale an egg business that can sustain the children in our homes while providing a source of income for years to come.
  • Rabbit ($15)—Rabbits offer a renewable livestock model that is well-suited to introductory training in animal husbandry.
  • Goat ($150)—Goat milk offers a sustainable source of dietary fat and healthy proteins for our children.

Rescued Children Gifts

Read about caring for rescued restavek children on our blog.

  • RUTF ($45)—One case of Ready-to-Use-Therapeutic-Food serves twenty-one individuals for a week.
  • New Provisions for a Child ($175)—School uniforms, backpack and school supplies, school books, classroom supplies.

For all these reasons, your donation can make a powerful difference. This Christmas season, we have a special opportunity to give to those in need. From now until December 25, we’re raising money to support the educational efforts of our ministry partners in Haiti. While the country continues in a state of crisis, what people need most is hope. Your gift allows us to build a bridge between the church in the US and God’s church in Haiti.
