Over the years, we’ve heard from supporters across the country who wanted to participate in our Walk for Restaveks but couldn’t make the trip to California. Others have family members, churches, or small groups who would have loved to get involved if there were an event closer to home. This year, we’re excited to make participating easier than ever.

In addition to our longtime walk in Simi Valley, CA, we’re expanding with a second in-person event in Melbourne, FL. And for friends who live too far away to attend either location, we’re offering a Hybrid Walk option, allowing supporters to organize their own local Walk for Restaveks wherever they are.

Whether your walk includes five people or fifty, every gathering serves the same purpose: raising awareness about the restavek system and inviting others to be part of the solution. Each conversation started, each mile walked, and each dollar raised helps Connect 2 Ministries continue caring for children, strengthening families, and working alongside our Haitian partners to prevent children from entering situations of exploitation.

We’re especially excited about the possibilities the hybrid option creates. Imagine your church hosting a walk after Sunday service. Picture a homeschool group, college ministry, neighborhood, or group of friends gathering in a local park to walk together while supporting children in Haiti. This is the heart of the Walk for Restaveks: joining together around a shared conviction that every child should live in an environment where they are loved, cared for, and given a hope-filled future.

Even if you can’t attend a walk, you can still support the event by sponsoring a participant, sharing the opportunity with others, and praying for the children and families we serve. We are grateful for every person who chooses to walk alongside us. Together, across multiple cities and communities, we can continue bringing hope to vulnerable children in Haiti—one step at a time.
